Free Preview Screening Art21: "Secrets"
How do artists make the invisible visible? What hidden elements persist in their work? Is it the artist’s role to reveal them, or not? In "Secrets," a new Art21 episode, artists share some of the secrets that are intrinsic to their work. Artists and non-artists enjoy seeing Elliott Hundley, Arlene Shechet and Trevor Paglen creating their works and speaking in their own words. The free preview screening at Rowayton Library, 33 Highland Avenue -- 12:00 noon on Monday, October 27. Bring a “brown bag” lunch; beverages and dessert provided. After the screening, RAC artists will participate in a discussion.
Since 2001, Art21 has established itself as the preeminent chronicler of contemporary art and artists through its Peabody Award-winning biennial PBS television series, "Art in the Twenty-First Century." Preview screenings of the four new Season 7 episodes of Art21 are sponsored by the Rowayton Library and the Rowayton Arts Center.
