Artist members must be practicing (exhibiting) artists or students seriously pursuing the perfection of their craft. Artists may become exhibiting artists at RAC in two ways: # 1 - By submitting 3 works to the Art Selection Committee for review in 1 of their 3 jurying session each year. # 2 – By being admitted to 3 out of the 4 juried shows held at the Art Center, over a two-year period. (This is a revision of the rule that was in place for 2008 whereby an artist need only be admitted to one juried show to qualify as an Exhibiting Artist. (This new policy started with the juried show in October 2009) What you need to present: Paintings/ Photography, etc. - Three framed pieces. Works must have been done within the last 3 years. Sculptures – One piece plus two slides or good quality photos of other sculptures. An artist bio, stating such data as – art education, professional experience, exhibition awards, and artistic goals. Please include a current mailing address. Receiving day is typically the day before the selection day, between 12:00 and 5:00. Candidates selected will be notified of the result by mail. If not selected, it is suggested that they enroll in classes and reapply after 6 months. Submit three works to be reviewed by the Artist Selection Committee. Paintings, prints, drawings and photos should be adequately framed; Sculptors may submit 1 piece plus 2 slides or good quality photos. An artist bio stating such data as: art education, professional experience, exhibition awards and artistic goals. |
